2 Devils prospects to play in 2018 Memorial Cup

Two Devils prospects will be participating among the final four teams in the 2018 Memorial Cup, which will determine the winner of the CHL playoffs starting on Friday.Defenseman Colby Sissons and the Swift Current Broncos reached the Memorial Cup after winning the WHL playoffs.Forward Marian Studenic and the Hamilton Bulldogs also made the final four after being crowned champions of the OHL.Devils’ best, worst 5-on-5 playersThe other two teams participating are Acadie-Bathurst Titan from the QMJHL, plus the Regina Pats, which will play as the host team.Sissons helped the Broncos finish second overall in the WHL in the regular season before making a run to the final, where they beat the Everett Silvertips in six games.Sissons, who signed with the Devils as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2016-17 season, had a breakout campaign for the Broncos in 2017-18.The blue liner racked up 71 points in the regular season, soaring past the career-high 28 points he posted in 2016-17. His stats were partially a product of a Broncos power play that led the WHL by converting 29.4 percent of its opportunities.In the postseason, Sissons added five goals and 18 assists over 26 games.Studenic, a 2017 fifth-round pick by the Devils, backed up his 48-point regular season with three goals and 12 assists over 24 OHL playoff games. The forward helped Hamilton knock off the Soo Greyhounds, who were the overwhelming favorite to win the OHL after going 55-7-3-3 in the regular season.Here’s the full schedule for the 2018 Memorial Cup.
