SDSU extends coach Dutcher through 2022-23

San Diego State men’s basketball coach Brian Dutcher signed a one-year contract extension through the 2022-23 season, the school announced Wednesday.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, though the San Diego Union-Tribune reports Dutcher is guaranteed roughly $4 million over the five-year pact.He made just over $755,000 last season and will receive a raise of $50,000 each year, raising the 2022-23 value to just over $1 million, according to the Union-Tribune.”I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be able to coach at San Diego State for the foreseeable future,” Dutcher said in a statement.In his first season at the helm of the team, Dutcher led the Aztecs (22-11) to their 11th Mountain West title and an NCAA Tournament berth, ending a two-year drought that had taken place under longtime head coach Steve Fisher.
