Top recruit Jeffries decommits from Kentucky, reopens recruitment

Top basketball recruit D.J. Jeffries has decomitted from Kentucky and reopened his recruitment, the forward from Mississippi announced on his Twitter account Monday.”After careful consideration prayer and countless hours of consulting with my family I decided to reopen recruitment,” Jeffries wrote. “It was a hard decision but I am confident that taking my time to choose the right school for me to better myself educationally and athletically is the right choice.”A 6-foot-7 small forward from Olive Branch High School, Jeffries picked Kentucky over Alabama and Mississippi State and committed on March 12.There were rumors that Jeffries might change his mind and join Memphis after Penny Hardaway — who was Jeffries’ AAU coach last spring and summer — was hired as the Tigers’ new head coach on March 20.
