NCAA adds letter-of-intent ban to recruiting ban

Two days after in-person recruiting was banned, the NCAA also suspended any signing of a national letter of intent for the next month, it announced on Sunday.Both bans, spurred by the coronavirus pandemic, will last through at least April 15, with a reevaluation coming on or before that date. Any letters of intent signed Sunday or earlier will proceed as normal.The signing period for Division I football began Feb. 5 and was scheduled to run through April 1. It will now be extended 30 days from the time the ban is lifted.
